So what is an Electronic Cigarette?
Simply put, the Electronic Cigarette (also known as an electric cigarette or e-cig) is a device that imitates the tobacco smoking experience, without the use of tobacco or the harmful smoke.
Most electronic cigarettes are designed to look like a typical factory made tobacco cigarette complete with filter tip, white body, glowing tip when the user inhales and even imitation smoke in the form of a vapour, so from a distance they are often mistaken for real tobacco cigarettes.
The vapour that the electronic cigarette generates is produced from a combination of nicotine, pharmacopoeia grade Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerine, which when vaporised, looks just like real smoke and provides a real smoking sensation in the throat, whilst providing a small dose of nicotine to satisfy the smokers cravings.

How Do Electronic Cigarettes Work?
Generally an electronic cigarette is made up of 3 parts:-

- Atomiser Device
- Nicotine Cartridge
All three pieces then screw or slot together to form the electronic cigarette. The battery provides power to the atomiser, which in-turn heats the nicotine liquid in the cartridge in order to produce the vapour that the user inhales.
On some newer models of electronic cigarette, the atomiser and cartridge have been combined into a single unit, making them a simpler two piece design.
