TECC Super Mini Clasp Case

As I now seem to be accumulating parts for my Super Mini I thought it was time to get a case to keep them in, rather than just putting the assembled super and a spare battery loose in my shirt pocket as I head out of the door.

So I had a look on the TECC website and purchased a clasp case from the Super’s accessories page. I purchased the black version, but it also comes in Red, Silver and a Tartan design. At the time of ordering they were having a 50% off sale, so they were experiencing higher than normal order levels and my case wasn’t dispatched until the following day and arrived the day after.

There was no fancy packaging with the case, it arrived in a polythene bag enclosed in a padded jiffy bag for delivery, which isn’t a problem as I’m always moaning about packaging anyway.

The case itself is well made and sturdy and closes with a nice snap. It’s not going to pop open in tour pocket all the time either. Inside the case has a nice velvet type finish. The base area where the batteries and atomisers slot in is made from a thin moulded plastic which does the job but feels a little flimsy, but then at the price you can’t complain.

The dimensions of the case are approx: Length 9.5cm x Width 6.5cm x Height 1.5cm

Now the description says the case carries 2 Electronic Cigarette batteries, 1 atomiser and a few spare cartridges. But it would appear that that description isn’t correct.

As far as I can work out the clasp case only has room for 2 Batteries and either 2 atomisers out of the nicotine cartridge or 1 atomiser and cartridge combined, with no room for any spare cartridges.

The lack of room for spare cartridges isn’t really a problem to me as I use an old 35mm film canister to carry them in (see here) but it would have been nice to have been able to keep a couple of cartridges in the case.

The batteries fit snugly into the slots provided in the base and won’t fall out if you open the case upside down. The atomisers out of the nicotine cartridge however are a different story and are not griped at all and slide up and down the central slot. If you put the atomiser inside a cartridge though it fits nice and snugly, but this obviously isn’t what it was designed for.

As the area that the batteries sit in is just a piece of moulded plastic I am tempted to extend the central section so that it holds a third battery, and keep the atomisers and cartridges separately.

All in all this is a good little case for the Super (or any RN4081 model) if all you want is to protect your batteries and atomiser from damage while carrying it around with you. If you want to carry some spare cartridges as well then you’ll need something else for that.
